Custom cabinets, built-ins, millwork, and furniture across Travis, Williamson, Burnet, and Bell counties. You deal with me directly, from the first visit to the last coat of finish.
You measured the wall. Then you spent weeks looking at things that were close but never right.
Too short, too shallow, the wrong wood, the wrong proportions for the room. Stock sizes get built for an average house and the average consumer.
But neither you nor your home are average.
The idea in your head is specific, and it is correct. You just need the right craftsman to build it.
Kitchen cabinets, media walls, bookcases, closets, and pantries, built to the inch for the space they live in.
Accent walls, doors, door and window casing, wainscotting & wall panelling.
Tables, desks, bookshelves, and one-off pieces made for one room and one person.
Home office conversions, accessibility work done attractively, and rooms reconfigured to suit how you actually use them.
Custom means the piece starts as a set of decisions instead of a product.
What is the ultimate goal? How will it be used? From there it is about what wood, what proportions, what it has to hold, how it meets the wall it lives against.
We work those out together, then I build it and install it myself. Nothing gets ordered from a catalog and adapted to fit.
Plenty of people who can comfortably afford a project like this still sit on it for years. It is not about the money. It is the fear of choosing the wrong person. Everyone has heard the stories of a project gone wrong. Those concerns are real, and they are exactly why I work the way I do.
I quote the work and I do the work. No estimator signs you up and hands you to a crew you have never met. Same person, same truck, every day until it is done.
The punch list, the cleanup, and the haul off are part of the job, not extras I get to skip. Your project is not finished until you tell me it is.
You get a written number before anything is ordered, and that is what you pay. If I misjudge the work, I absorb it. A price only moves for change you request or something nobody could have known was behind the wall. In those cases, you get options and you make the decision.
Drop cloths taped down, runners along the traffic path, and a vacuum at the end of every day. I confirm before I come, and you always know who is in your house and when.
You start with the project questionnaire. It covers the space, the scope, and your timeline, and it tells me enough to know whether this is something I should be building. If it is a fit, we set a time to sit down and go through it properly.
You get a written proposal with the scope, the materials, and a realistic completion date spelled out. Nothing gets ordered and nothing gets built until you have approved it.
The same person in your home every day it is running, appointments confirmed the day before, and a call from me before anything changes.
We walk the finished work side by side against what you approved. Punch list, cleanup, and haul off are part of the job, not an afterthought.

“Jon Legalos, owner of [J. Legalos Fine Woodworking], is the most skillful craftsman I have ever worker with. He installed some sound-reducing paneling and very heavy cabinetry in my office. He did the work of 3 people, and in about half the time. He is experienced and knowledgeable and his work was efficient and precise. I highly recommend [J. Legalos Fine Woodworking] for all of your remodeling needs. For this type of work, Jon has no equal.”
“Jon is a fantastic craftsman as well as being a great person. His work replacing one outside door and refinishing our mahogany front door was carefully and thoroughly done with excellent results. Jon would be my first phone call for future work.”
“Jon with [J. Legalos Fine Woodworking] made us this customized box for our organization’s weekly ticket drawing. The box is sturdy and looks so professional with our lightning bolt logo incorporated on the top. Jon will take a simple idea and blow your expectations out of the water!”
“Jon Legalos does incredible work! We recently had him replace the french doors of our dining room with a barn door to save space. He was able to make insightful recommendations and craft the door perfectly to our needs. I have seen his other work and it is top-notch. I highly recommend Jon for any of your renovation work!”
There is no estimator who signs you up and then hands you to a crew you have never met. The same person who meets you is the same one who bids the work and arrives to do the work. Same person, same truck, every day until the project is complete.
It depends on size, materials, and how much of the house has to come apart, so I will not pretend there is a number I can give you here. What I will tell you is that I do not compete on price and I do not bid against three other guys. If cost is the first concern, I am probably not the right fit, and I would rather say that early than waste your afternoon.
It varies. I keep one main project at the center of my schedule and fit smaller work around it, so the honest answer depends on where that project stands when you reach out. The best thing would be for you to complete the project questionnaire. This will let you and I know if your project is a good fit, while also letting me know what your timeline is.
It really depends on the project. Room conversions and renovations involves cutting wood and opening walls, which makes dust. However, custom furniture is built in my workshop and will not cause any mess an your home at all. What I can control I do, such as using taped drop cloths, plastic runners along the traffic path, as well as vacuuming at the end of every day.
Tell me what you have in mind and I will give you a straight answer about whether I am the right person to build it.
